About me

Professional headshot of Karla Rosales

I have always been endlessly curious. As a kid, I wanted to be an archaeologist. I was fascinated by studying human artifacts of the past to understand our current lives. Years later, that same curiosity pulled me toward design. Now, instead of excavating the past, I design for the future, looking for patterns in how people work, live, and care for themselves.

My journey has taken me from Mexico to the Netherlands to the US. Each place taught me something essential: Mexico gave me the warmth to see people first, the Netherlands taught me systems thinking and directness, and the US showed me how to scale impact. These shape how I see design challenges.

One way is exploring the relationship between technology, people, and a better future thinking on how organizations and individuals serve and interact with each other. I work at the intersection of user experience, product strategy, research, and building things. Another way is through writing, drawing, and art experiments. In my art, I explore the inner world, identity, and ancestry through surreal imagery.

I am open to converations about consulting, contract, or full-time work. karla@karlarosales.net
